First Sculpture: “Worlds Change When Eyes Meet”

First Sculpture: “Worlds Change When Eyes Meet”

Finally, my first sculpture is ready to be shown! I designed the head of Medusa with my signature butterfly in front of her eyes. I named it “Worlds Change When Eyes Meet”.

I did this project in collaboration with an amazing and creative team from Istanbul. I want to thank everyone for bringing my vision to life the last couple of months.

The sculpture is almost half a meter long and carved by hand. I will be posting more about the process soon.

Medusa, is the most fearsome figure of Greek mythology and is best known for having hair made of snakes and for her ability to turn anyone she looked at to stone.

The hero Perseus was able to defeat Medusa by lopping off her head. He later used her head as a weapon to turn enemies to stone. Kind of ironic if you consider that my sculpture of her head is partly made from stony materials too, guess we are lucky that the butterfly I created covers her eyes…
